The New Xpeng P7’s Interior is a Technological Hub

Xpeng’s new P7 model is a true technology powerhouse, featuring a massive AR-HUD display, a three-axis multimedia system, and smart seats. The electric car also stands out with a range of up to 820 km.
Xpeng recently shared detailed information about its upcoming new P7 sedan on its official Weibo account. The announcement, which highlighted the interior features, design innovations, and motor options, also stated that the electric model will be officially unveiled this week.
According to the brand’s statement, the new P7 is equipped with several innovative features currently not available in its segment. Chief among these is the claimed largest 87-inch augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD) in its class and a “Touch Pad” control interface, which is a first in the automotive industry.
The new P7 has a three-spoke steering wheel with a rotary control knob. The interior layout is designed around what Xpeng calls a “technology island” concept. This structure integrates the AR-HUD system, the sporty steering wheel, a multi-mode digital instrument cluster, and a new three-axis rotatable multimedia screen. This screen can be voice-controlled and also works as a digital assistant that can provide animated responses (e.g., nodding its head).

The interior also includes front seats with active lateral supports that can respond within 10 milliseconds. These supports can be adjusted laterally by up to 30 mm. Many comfort and convenience features are also offered, such as heating, ventilation, massage functions, and touch-panel access to the trunk. The AR-HUD system covers elements like navigation, driver-assistance data, and interactive augmented reality games.
On the design front, the new P7, penned by French designer Rafik Ferrag, features angular lines and a fluid fastback silhouette. The car’s rear has an active spoiler. According to the released data, the car’s length is 5,017 mm, width is 1,970 mm, height is 1,427 mm, and the wheelbase is 3,008 mm. The new model will be available in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) versions. The RWD version comes with a single 270 kW motor, while the AWD version has a dual-motor setup, offering a total power output of 437 kW with a 167 kW motor in the front and a 270 kW motor in the back.
The battery options come in two different capacities: 74.9 kWh and 92.2 kWh. According to China’s CLTC standards, the entry-level RWD version offers a range of 702 km, the long-range RWD 820 km, and the AWD version 750 km.
All versions will feature an 800V silicon carbide (SiC) high-voltage architecture and 5C fast-charging support. This infrastructure significantly shortens charging times. Although specific details are not yet available, an example is the Xpeng G7 SUV model, which uses the same charging system and can gain 436 km of range in just 10 minutes under ideal conditions.
